Hi, I'm Zoran The Wizard!
Tabletop Role Playing enjoyer, Video Game enoyer, Wizard.
Who are you?
My name is Payton Smith, like potentially a lot of you, I grew up obsessed with video games, board games, wargames, and tabletop role-playing games. That obsession never wore off, and It's exactly what pulled me into the games industry.
Since 2014 I have created marketing insights and materials for game companies, including Sony Online Entertainment and Behaviour Interactive, and later Paizo — the studio behind Pathfinder and Starfinder — where I served as their Social Media Producer.
I have also spent plenty of time on the acting side of things, lending my voice to radio stations, video games, and online projects. The role people know me best for is Leman Russ from If the Emperor Had a Text-to-Speech Device. Along with a fun few years participating in various theater productions (I miss the Spam-a-lot crew!)
At the end of the day, I just love to perform and entertain, to make people laugh, and to fully embrace my inner dork.
What I do now
Content Creation
I run the ZoranTheWizard YouTube channel, where I dive into TTRPG game master and player advice. Along with showcasing my favorite mechanics from TTRPG systems that I believe will benefit you and your campaigns!
TTRPG Content
I manage and run Narrative Declaration, a collective of developers, writers, actors, and fun-loving people united by one goal: making people laugh. Beyond the live-play shows, my friend OnCallGM and I build monsters and worlds in a series of PDFs you can drop straight into your own games.
Developer & Writer
I do not think of myself as a full fledged developer or writer, but as an ever learning student. So much of what I know came from remarkable people in the industry who took the time to teach me, and I have spent years putting those lessons into practice. As much as "developer" and "writer" looks good on a resume. I'll always aspire to develop these skills to hopefully one day be proud to wear those badges.
